“Our next stop on the journey was Hegarty Boatyard where Cerri’s partner, John, works. The yard is world famous for the restoration work they do on large wooden ships. People come from around the world to attend workshops at the boatyard. Currently they are working on the Ilen (eye-len). They also work on boats for fisherman and the like.

During the month of April 2011, Jeremy Irons traveled around the globe (Iceland, San Francisco, Vietnam, Brazil…) with Blenheim Films, working on a new documentary about the environment and the world’s garbage, entitled Trashed.

Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Irons will be in Montreal from June 5 for the filming of The Words, a film by director Brian Klugman. They remain in the city for nearly a month and here are all the details of the filming of this production.
PRESS RELEASE – The Office of Film and Television (QFTC) is pleased to announce the confirmation of a new American film in Quebec this summer. The independent feature The Words starring Bradley Cooper (Limitless, Hangover, and soon Hangover Two) and Jeremy Irons (Die Hard with a Vengeance, Eragon, The Borgias) begins its pre-production this week. Filming will begin on June 5 for a period of 25 days, and will take place entirely in Montreal where the city will serve as a backdrop to New York and Paris.
The QFTC began discussions in early 2010 with the Hollywood production company Animus Films. Negotiations continued during the summer with the preparation of several proposals digital filming locations. The Words The project gained momentum in November during the economic mission organized by the QFTC the AFM (American Film Market) in Santa Monica. Among the 15 companies that participated in the Quebec delegation, the executive producer Francois Sylvestre took the opportunity to meet producers.
Producers Jim Young and Tatiana Kelly and the authors / directors Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal (Tron Legacy) were invited by the QFTC last month to discover the proposed filming locations and meet with service providers and AQTIS. This trip has definitely convinced the team of financial and creative strengths of Quebec. A few days later the producers announced their final decision to shoot in Montreal. “We are delighted with the enthusiasm that Quebec continues to attract internationally. Visible interest from foreign producers for Quebec is the result of three years of work and concerted mobilization of all our members, “recounted Hans Fraikin, the national commissioner.
François Sylvestre, who works with Nathalie Brunet Omada agency, said he was “proud to have helped bring a film in Montreal independent U.S. copyright.” With already nearly $ 200 million in volume shoots confirmed for 2011 and more than 3000 jobs created or maintained, all indications are that 2011 will be another record year for foreign productions shot in Quebec in 2010 surpassing the previous record year, which reached a total $ 214 million in direct economic benefits.

Academy Award and Tony Award winner Jeremy Irons will play the role of King Arthur in a one-night-only concert staging of Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot this summer to benefit Irish Repertory Theatre.
As previously reported, Melissa Errico and James Barbour, who played Guenevere and Lancelot, respectively, in the Hollywood Bowl’s summer 2005 production of Camelot, will return to those roles for the upcoming concert.
The benefit concert of the classic musical about the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table will be held June 6 at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway.
Charlotte Moore will direct the evening with musical direction by Mark Hartman. Additional casting will be announced shortly. The concert will feature a full orchestra and a chorus of 50.
Camelot — featuring music by Frederick Loewe and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner — originally opened at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre in Dec. 1960, playing 873 performances before closing Jan. 5, 1963. The premiere company included Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, Robert Goulet, Robert Coote, John Cullum and Roddy McDowall. The classic Lerner and Loewe score boasts such tunes as “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “I Loved You Once in Silence,” “Follow Me,” “I Wonder What the King Is Doing Tonight” and the title tune.
Melissa Errico, most recently seen on Broadway in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, began her professional career portraying Cosette in Les Misérables, and she followed with leading Broadway roles in Anna Karenina, My Fair Lady, High Society, Amour (Tony nomination) and Dracula, plus roles in the City Center Encores! productions of Call Me Madam and One Touch of Venus. She appeared in a production of Threepenny Opera at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and her recent Off-Broadway credits include Candida (Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Play), Finian’s Rainbow and Aunt Dan and Lemon. She also starred in the Hollywood Bowl presentations of Camelot and The Sound of Music. James Barbour was most recently seen as Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities. His other Broadway credits include Assassins, Urinetown, Jane Eyre, Beauty and the Beast, Carousel and Cyrano—The Musical. He has appeared in such films as “Eight Crazy Nights” and has guest-starred on such television shows as “Sex and the City” and “Ed.”
Jeremy Irons won a Tony Award for his performance in the original Broadway production of The Real Thing. The English actor also won Academy and Golden Globe awards for his work in the 1990 film “Reversal of Fortune.” Irons was also Golden-Globe nominated for “The Mission” and “Brideshead Revisited.” Among his London stage credits are Embers and The Rover.
