Jeremy Irons was in Los Angeles from October 22 – 26, 2016 to attend a variety of events to promote The Man Who Knew Infinity.
Jeremy attended a Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon at Culina at The Four Seasons hotel, given by producer Ed Pressman. He recorded several interviews, including The Nerdist podcast, Celebrity Conversations with David Poland for Ovation TV, Larry King Now and the Tavis Smiley show.
Jeremy attended several screenings of The Man Who Knew Infinity and participated in Q&A sessions afterward.
There was also a post-screening party at STK at the W Hotel West Hollywood, on Tuesday night, where Jeremy was interviewed by actress and mathematician Danica McKellar.

‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’ Moves to Production

After eight years of development, “The Man Who Knew Infinity” will go into production next month in the U.K. with Dev Patel, Jeremy Irons and newcomer Devika Bhise starring.
Patel will portray math genius Srinivasa Ramanujan and Jeremy Irons will play G.H. Hardy, who recognized Ramanujan’s brilliance despite his lack of formal training and education and plucked him from obscurity in Edwardian India. Bhise will portray Ramanujan’s wife.
Shooting will start Aug. 3 at Trinity College in the University of Cambridge — the first film to be shot at Trinity — followed by two weeks in various locations in South India.
David Garrett of Mister Smith Entertainment has come on board to handle international sales.
The film is an Edward R. Pressman and Animus Films production in association with Xeitgeist and Marcys Holdings. Pressman and Animus’ Jim Young will produce along with Sofia Sondervan of Dutch Tilt Film, Pressman’s chief operating officer Jon Katz and Xeitgeist’s Joe Thomas.
Matthew Brown will direct and wrote the screenplay based on the biography “The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan” by Robert Kanigel. Pressman and Young acquired film rights to the biography in 2006, published in 1991.
Patel came on board the project last year at Cannes and Irons signed on in Decemeber. Bhise has recently joined the cast; she played the role of the goddess Namagiri in “The Partition,” a play based on Kanigel’s book, at the Spotlighter’s Theater in New York.
Bhise has a supporting role in an episode of the upcoming MTV series “One Bad Choice.”
Pressman produced “Wall Street,” “Bad Lieutenant” and “Reversal of Fortune,” for which Irons won the Best Actor Oscar.

LONDON — Jeremy Irons is set to co-star in the Edward R. Pressman/ Cinemorphic Entertainment Company production of “The Man Who Knew Infinity,” the biopic of Srinivasa Ramanujan, with Dev Patel starring as the revered Indian mathematician.
Irons will play G.H. Hardy, the English mathematician who plucked Ramanujan from obscurity in Edwardian India and installed him in Cambridge University.
The film will be directed by Matthew Brown, who also wrote the screenplay based on the biography “The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan” by Robert Kanigel.
Edward R. Pressman and Prashita Chaudhary of Cinemorphic are producers, along with Jim Young under his Animus Films banner, and Sofia Sondervan of Dutch Tilt Film.
Pressman said, “I am delighted to be working with Jeremy again. Our last collaboration on ‘Reversal of Fortune’ earned an Oscar for Jeremy, and I could not overstate his amazing talent. We are very fortunate to be able to add an actor of such stature to our production.”
Production on “The Man Who Knew Infinity” is expected to commence on locations in the U.K. and India next year.
Pressman’s COO Jon Katz is serving as executive producer along with Tristine Skyler, Xeitgeist’s Joe Thomas, Pamela Godfrey, Mark Montgomery and Min-Li Tan. Tayyab Madni will serve as an associate producer.
