The text of the article isn’t at all kind to Jeremy, but the photos are great. See more photos here!

On Monday, April 27th, the Tribeca Film Festival honored an acting legend — Tom Hanks. And Jeremy Irons showed up to party!

We spotted Jeremy arriving to the red carpet on none other than an awesome motorcycle.

And 15 minutes later, he pops up on an outside balcony for a smoke […],

Jeremy attends party to salute Allegra Huston

An excerpt from Liz Smith’s column for WOWoWOW

At a recent bash for the Literati and Glitterati downtown on the East Side, I rubbed shoulders with a gang of the most famous. They were there to salute Allegra Huston for her stunning book, Love Child. (It’s all about how director John Huston and his relatives shifted her from pillar to post during her motherless growing up!)

Glimpsed cramming up to the serving table to eat the fabulous creations served up by chef Anita Clark were such stars as Lauren Bacall, Brian de Palma, Jeremy Irons, Anjelica Huston, Roger “Pink Floyd” Waters, John Richardson, Joan Juliet Buck, Nell Campbell (this reigning nightclub doyenne of the ’60s/’70s now lives in Sydney, Australia), R.J. Wagner and Jill St. John, John Patrick Shanley, Lillian Ross, Earl McGrath and I’m sure I’ve dropped and lost the names of tons of VIPs.

Jeremy spotted dining at Cafe Boulud

Eating New York (2009) April 27, 2009 By: John Curtas

Here’s an excerpt from the Eating Las Vegas Website

Why do we heart NYC so much? Is it the energy we get from walking the streets? The true twenty-four hour nature of the city? Its culture, arts and museums? The throbbing heartbeat of a place pulsating with vitality no other city can touch? Or is it the world city you see on the streets — a cross-cultural stew of sites, sounds and smells that is a constant source of wonderment and allows no room for boredom?

Sure it’s all that, but mainly we love it because the food is so […] good.

… it was but a short stroll across the street to what may be our favorite New York restaurant, Cafe Boulud

…Where we sat so close to Jeremy Irons we wanted to interrupt him a few times as he espoused his opinions on the British v. American education system. He was dining with three silver-haired fat cats and their culture vulture wives; the wives of whom hung on this guy’s every word, whilst their husbands were immersed in talks involving weighty business and financial matters — none of which seemed related to what it takes to get out of the sixth grade.**

Sadly, none of them paid the slightest attention to Chef Gavin Kaysen’s food, which was as picture and pitch perfect as cuisine can be.

Cafe Boulud is just about perfect as well. The size (95 seats — that civilized thing again), understated elegance, knowledgeable staff, and seasonal cuisine make it a spot that feels as comfortable as an old shoe — if that shoe was handmade, custom fit, and as stylish as this guy.

Quintessentially and IFC films have joined forces to present a private VIP pre-screening of In The Loop, a hilarious new comedy by Armando Iannucci (creator of the British hits Alan Partridge and The Thick of It), on Sunday, April 26. The film is drawing instant comparisons to some of the greatest political comedies such as Doctor Strangelove, Bob Roberts, Thank You For Smoking and Wag The Dog.

In The Loop starring James Gandolfini, Anna Chlumsky and Steve Coogan, which people have been raving about ever since its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.  The New York Times‘ Manohla Dargis called it “A smart, sophisticated comedy…Scathingly funny…Brought down the packed house. I haven’t heard dialogue this fast since Rosalind Russell and Cary Grant traded zingers in His Girl Friday.” A number of celebrities and politically active guests were expected to attend this advance screening, which will begin at 7pm. A VIP after-party followed at downtown hotspot Double Crown and their adjacent cocktail lounge, Madam Geneva.

IN THE LOOP tells the story of a mild-mannered British government minister (Tom Hollander) who inadvertently backs a war on prime-time television, immediately alerting the attention of the Prime Minister’s aggressive communications chief (Peter Capaldi), who latches onto him like a hawk. Soon, the Brits are in Washington, where a US General (James Gandolfini) thinks war is a crazy idea; the British minister’s new advisor (Chris Addison) has his eye on an ambitious government intern (Anna Chlumsky); and soon there’s to be a crucial vote at the UN.

Hats off to Abe: Jeremy Irons at Lincoln tribute

Hats off to Abe: Jeremy Irons at Lincoln tribute

NEW YORK (AP) — Abraham Lincoln is getting the star treatment.

Award-winning actors Jeremy Irons, Marian Seldes and Frances Sternhagen will be among those reciting Lincoln tributes next month from a new Library of America volume that features such writers and politicians as President Obama, Walt Whitman and Carl Sandburg.

The free, midday reading, to be held May 1 at Saint Peter’s Church in midtown Manhattan, is sponsored by the nonprofit TIPA (Toward International Peace Through the Arts). The Library of America book “The Lincoln Anthology” was published recently in celebration of the bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth.

The View recap

[On The View’s official website, they put “Jeffery” instead of “Jeremy”, so I’ve made the corrections.]

Wednesday, Apr. 22

Today, the ladies celebrated Sherri’s birthday! It all kicked off with a great giveaway of tickets to a screening of Earth. FYI: For every ticket purchased during opening week, Disneynature will plant a tree in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest — which is considered the most endangered rain forest in the world.

The first guest was Jeremy Irons, an actor who’s captivated audiences on the big screen — and now on stage in Impressionism. After Jeremy told audiences about what you can expect to see in the play, we watched a clip of The Lion King — for which both Jeremy and our Whoopi provided voices. Jeremy has won an Academy Award, a Tony award, a Screen Actors Guild award, two Emmy awards, and two Golden Globes for his work! You can see Jeremy in Impressionism at the Schoenfeld Theater in New York City. Everyone went home with a pair of tickets for the show …

Since it was Sherri’s birthday, The View challenged the award-winning cake artists from Food Challenge Network Challenge: Last Cake Standing to make their best creations in her honor! The host of Last Cake Standing, Keegan Gerhard, was here to introduce us to the contestants — and to help chose the winner. All three contestants did a wonderful job, and then Sherri chose her favorite. Be sure to watch Last Cake Standing this Sunday night to see the crowning of the winner!

Sherri’s birthday wish came true when the Clarke Sisters stopped by to perform “Higher Ground” from the new gospel all-star tribute Oh Happy Day — as well as their classic hit “You Brought The Sunshine.” Everyone in our audience took home a copy of Oh Happy Day and the group’s latest CD, The Clark Sisters Live&One Last Time!
