Jeremy Irons was in Clonakilty on 6 May 2017, to open the Darkness Into Light event to benefit Pieta House and raise awareness for self-harm and suicide prevention.
Thank you to Meghne Mulqueen, Annette O’Brien, Sinead Moloney, Paul Hayes, Michael Plaice, Sinead Crowley and Aoife O’Keeffe for the photos and video.
Darkness Into Light is in aid of Pieta House, the centre for the prevention of suicide and self-harm. Darkness Into Light is celebrated in 80 venues in Ireland and much further afield. Darkness Into Light is the flagship fundraising and awareness event for Pieta House, who have helped so many people in suicidal distress and engaging in self-harm over the last nine years. Pieta House has nearly 180 staff and have welcomed nearly 18,000 people into their nine centres up and down the country since they first opened their doors over nine years ago.
