Jeremy Irons at the 2016 Venice Film Festival

Jeremy Irons was in attendance at the 2016 Venice Film Festival to present Jerzy Skolimowski with the Golden Lion for Career Achievement, during the opening of the festival.

Jeremy Irons outlined Skolimowski’s achievements at a ceremony starting at 7pm on Wednesday 31 August.

Irons played the main role in Skolimowski’s 1982 film Moonlighting about Polish workers in London at a time when martial law was introduced in Poland by the country’s then-communist regime.
